Roller Hockey Tape to Help Your Grip and Performance
Roller hockey stick tape can enhance your performance on the rink in multiple ways. It can be applied to the blade, shaft, and handle of the stick, and is commonly used by nearly all roller hockey players. Made from the same material as ice hockey tape, it can be used for both roller hockey and ice hockey.
Applying tape to the handle and shaft will improve your control, while adding tape to the blade will enhance your grip on the puck or ball. Usually available in black or white, you can also choose between wider or narrower styles.
How Do You Tape a Roller Hockey Stick?
There’s no fixed method for applying inline hockey tape. For the blade, some players prefer taping from heel to toe, while others go from toe to heel. This is largely a matter of personal preference. The key is to maintain consistent spacing. This should be done vertically, overlapping about half of the previous wrap. Once finished, rub the tape to ensure it feels smooth, which will help prevent it from coming off on the floor.
