Stunt Scooter Clamps
Dependable Scooter Clamps Keep Everything Secure
Here, you shall discover various kinds of scooter clamps; including both SCS and non-SCS, oversized and standard, quad, triple, and dual clamps.
Your clamp acts as the adhesive holding your bar and fork in unison, and an aesthetically pleasing one can significantly boost your street reputation. Therefore, raise the stakes by upgrading your scooter with a superior clamp.
Compatibility of Scooter Clamps
Ensuring compatibility between the clamp and both your compression system and your bar’s external diameter is essential.
Standard versus Oversized Scooter Clamps
The internal diameter of scooter clamps plays a crucial role. The clamp envelops the bar, so if its internal diameter is smaller than the bar’s external diameter, it will not fit. Conversely, if the clamp’s internal diameter is too large, it will not secure the bar firmly.
When a clamp is identified as either standard or oversized, it pertains to the internal diameter of the clamp:
- Standard clamps possess a 32 mm internal diameter.
- Oversized clamps exhibit a 35 mm internal diameter and are intended for oversized bars.
Certain oversized clamps are equipped with a shim, enabling them to fit standard bars as well.
SCS Clamps versus HIC, IHC, and ICS Clamps
With SCS, the clamp is a component integrated into the compression system. In essence, SCS clamps are crafted specifically for SCS configurations.
Any clamp that is not SCS can be used with all other compression systems, such as HIC, IHC, and ICS, as long as the correct internal diameter is maintained.
A Short Note on Scooter Bars, Slits, and Clamps
The slit is a cut at the base of a scooter bar permitting the clamp to firmly compress the bar around the compression shim in HIC, IHC, and ICS configurations.
If utilising SCS compression, your bar should be devoid of a slit at the base. For all other compression systems, it must feature a slit.
SCS clamps generally come with 3 or 4 bolts for securing due to the larger area they clamp, while other clamps typically have 2 bolts as they cover a smaller area. If the clamp surpasses the length of the slit, it can compromise the bar’s structural robustness.
