When Can My Child Start Snowboarding?

Many parents wonder at what age their children can begin snowboarding. The smallest youth snowboards cater to children aged 3 years old. At this age, they generally have developed enough motor skills to grasp the basics. Most children's snowboard schools accept students from the age of 3.

What Size Snowboard is Suitable for My Child?

The appropriate size of a child's snowboard should mostly depend on their height. A common guideline is that the board's length should be between the child’s chest and nose height—nearer the chest for beginners and closer to the nose for more advanced children. Snowboards as short as 80 cm are among the smallest available and fit 3-year-old children who are approximately 95 cm tall.
