Surfskate bushings influence how flexible your truck will feel. This is crucial when surfskating as you aim to replicate that surf sensation with plenty of deep carving turns. With bushings, the three factors to consider are the bushing style, hardness (durometer), and your weight.

A lot of it comes down to personal preference, but many riders in the surfskate community favor softer bushings to achieve responsive trucks that are ideal for carving. For the bushing setup, a cone and barrel shape should provide a good range of motion. Regarding weight, the general rule is that the heavier you are, the harder the bushing should be.
