Folding Scooters & Adjustable Kick Scooters

Good to know

What Is a Foldable Scooter?

A foldable scooter is a kick scooter with a two-piece deck that allows the scooter to easily fold in half. Because of this design, they are very handy and can be stored in a small space. Folding scooters are also called adjustable scooters, as they have adjustable bars.

You can find folding scooters for adults and kids alike, and they are a great choice for fun cruising and even for commuting to work. However, folding scooters are not suitable for making tricks or jumps, so if you are looking for a scooter built specifically for stunts, visit our Stunt scooter Category.

Choosing the Right Adjustable Scooter for You

Choosing the right adjustable scooter depends on your age, height and purpose of use. The category features many models, of which some are better suited for children and some for teenagers and adults.

If you need a kick scooter for your child’s daily school rides and cruising around the neighborhood, choose a kids folding scooter. They have lower handlebars and smaller, 120-125 mm wheels. Small wheels might not be as fast, but they are more stable and manoeuvrable for children to ride.

If you intend to use your fold-up scooter mainly for transportation, choose a model with large, over 150 mm wheels. They provide more speed and are better to ride on uneven surfaces. Models with large air-filled tyres are suitable for almost all surfaces and enable you to ride on off-road areas.

Foldable Scooters Vs. Adult Scooters

Even though many foldable scooter models can be regarded as adult scooters as well, there are some differences between the two. Adjustable and foldable scooters usually feature many children kick scooter models and have more size variety in the models. Furthermore, foldable scooters can have both small and large wheels, and might not always be the best choice for longer distances.

Adult scooters, on the contrary, include only big wheel kick scooter models that are constructed with transportation and speed in mind. In addition, they can also feature non-foldable, sturdier models as well as scooters with thick wheels better suited for off-road conditions.

You can find more information about adult scooters from our Adult Scooters & Big Wheel Scooters category.
