The Onyx Core Shorty is a wetsuit with a 2mm thickness and a snug fit design. This wetsuit features long sleeves and a zip located on the chest. The chest zipper effectively prevents water entry at the top of the suit, thereby minimising water flushes in the neck region.

Aqua-A is a water-based, solvent-free adhesive utilised in all Ion wetsuits.
To enhance the durability of stress points within the wetsuit, Ion has incorporated Melco tape. Ion advises: “If you happen to leave the suit in the boot of your car on a hot day, the tape may begin to peel. Don't worry! Carefully press an iron over the affected section, as the adhesive is heat-activated.”
Wetsuits that follow the body's natural lines improve flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits are designed with a contour cut.
Drain holes are integrated to prevent water retention in areas where fabrics overlap. These drain holes maintain their size and will not enlarge.
Located inside the wetsuit is a water-resistant internal pocket for keys.

To effectively bond neoprene panels and achieve outstanding water resistance, a combination of glueing and blind stitch sewing is implemented to join the panels.
Specialised fabrics are employed for regions of the wetsuit that are more susceptible to wear - such as the knee areas. The Supra Tex fabric offers superior abrasion resistance.
