Scooter Bars Compatibility

Regular bars: 28 mm inner diameter / 32 mm outer diameter
Oversized bars: 32 mm inner diameter / 35 mm outer diameter
Aluminium bars: 28 mm inner diameter / 35 mm outer diameter (for enhanced strength)

The bar's outer diameter must align with your clamp's inner diameter. If transitioning to a bar with a different outer diameter, ensure your clamp is compatible.

How Do Material and Shape Influence Scooter Bar Performance?

Scooter handlebars are primarily available in three materials: steel, aluminium, and titanium. Here’s what you need to know:

Steel / chromoly scooter bars

Aluminium scooter bars

Choosing a Scooter Bar Shape; a Y or a T?

T-shaped bars are minimalist and classic, often favoured by street riders. They consist of a tube welded perpendicularly at the centre of another tube. This design doesn't lend itself to additional reinforcements but avoids weak points due to its straight, curve-free tubes. Typically, T-shaped bars are manufactured from steel or titanium, though aluminium versions are available.

Y-shaped bars provide numerous design possibilities. They generally include gussets to boost structural strength and are frequently made from aluminium, preferred by riders who value low weight and technical manoeuvres. Some Y-bars feature backsweep, which some find more comfortable.

While T-bars are typically aligned with street riding and Y-bars with park riding, one does not exclude the other. It's ultimately your choice to find a bar with characteristics that support your progression while complementing your aesthetic preferences.
